October 2010 Beaded 3D Cupcake Project
You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month, I would like to feature the instruction on a beaded 3D cupcake made with Japanese glass seed beads and long bugles, using right angle weave beading technique.

Beaded 3D Cupcake

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

What you need:
1)  Size 11/0 & Size 12/0 glass seed beads (mine is pink) Size 11/0 long bugle beads (for the cup)
2)  Beading string (0.25mm).
3)  One long head pin, one bead (to be the cherry on the cupcake - size to your preference) and one insert
     bead, size not larger than 5mm.  		 Beaded Cupcake Tutorial
Step 1: Cut a piece of beading string around half meter long.
  • Add five size12/0 seed beads (the smaller beads) at the centre of the string and crisscross the string through the last added bead to form a 5 bead circle as shown.

Step 2: Continue to:
  • Add one size 11/0, one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 on the left (red) string.
    Crisscross the right (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through one old size 12/0 bead from step 1 marked A.

Step 3: Continue to:
  • Add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 on the bottom (black) string.
    Crisscross the top (red) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the black string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through one old size 12/0 bead from step 1 marked A.

Step 4: Continue to:
  • Add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 on the right (red) string.
    Crisscross the left (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through one old size 12/0 bead from step 1 marked A.

Step 5: Continue to:
  • Add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 on the top (black) string.
    Crisscross the bottom (red) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the black string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through two old beads from step 1 and 2 marked A and B.

Step 6: Continue to:
  • Add one size 12/0 bead on each side of the string (total of 2 - one on each string) add one size 11/0 bead to crisscross both strings through.

Step 7: Continue to:
  • On the top (black) string, add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 bead.
    On the bottom (red) string, add one size 12/0 bead and crisscross this string through the last bead added on the black string.

Step 8: Continue to:
  • On the left (red) string, add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 bead.
    On the right (black) string, add one size 12/0 bead and crisscross this string through the last bead added on the red string.

Step 9: Continue to: (working only on one string at this step)
  • Add one size 12/0 bead on the right (red) string and continue to pass the same string through one old bead marked A.

Step 10: Continue to:
  • Add one size 12/0 bead on each side of the string (total of 2 - one on each string) add one size 11/0 bead to crisscross both strings through.

Step 11: Continue to:
  • On the bottom (red) string, add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 bead.
    On the top (black) string, add one size 12/0 bead and crisscross this string through the last bead added on the red string.

Step 12: Continue to: (working only on one string at this step)
  • Add one size 12/0 bead on the left (red) string and continue to pass the same string through one old bead marked A.

Step 13: Continue to:
  • Add one size 12/0 bead on each side of the string (total of 2 - one on each string) add one size 11/0 bead to crisscross both strings through.

Step 14: Continue to:
  • On the right (red) string, add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 bead.
    On the left (black) string, add one size 12/0 bead and crisscross this string through the last bead added on the red string.

Step 15: Continue to: (working only on one string at this step)
  • Add one size 12/0 bead on the left (red) string and continue to pass the same string through one old bead marked A.

Step 16: Continue to:
  • Add one size 12/0 bead on each side of the string (total of 2 - one on each string) add one size 11/0 bead to crisscross both strings through.

Step 17: Continue to:
  • On the top (red) string, add one size 12/0, one size 11/0, one size 12/0 and one size 11/0 bead.
    On the bottom (black) string, add one size 12/0 bead and crisscross this string through the last bead added on the red string.
