Step 1: |
Always Remember to pull tight on EVERY STEP.
- Cut a piece of string or wire around a meter long.
Add 6 seed beads at the middle of this string and crisscross the both ends through the last added bead. (remember to balance out both ends of the string so that they are of the same length)
Step 2: |
- Take the bottom (purple) line, ad one pink crystal, one bead, one round black crystal, one bead and one pink crystal.
Pass the top (blue) line through the last added pink crystal. Pass the purple line through the next top adjoining bead from the bead circle from step 1.
Step 3: |
- This step is similar with step 2 except for the color of crystals added.
Take the right (blue) end of the line, add one seed bead, one black crystal, one seed bead and one purple crystal (which you would cross the right (purple) line through) and further pass the blue line through the seed bead (where the blue arrow is coming out from) from step 1.
Step 4: |
- Take the top (purple) line, add one bead, one black crystal, 4 beads, one black crystal, one bead.
Loop this line through the first of the 4 beads added (where the purple line crosses on the diagram). Add one purple crystal and loop this line further through one bottom adjoining bead from step 1 - shown where the purple arrow is coming out from.
Take the bottom (blue) line, pass it through the last purple crystal added and further pass it through one bead on it's top - shown where the blue arrow is coming out from.
Step 5: |
- Take the top (blue) line, add one black crystal, two beads, one black crystal, one bead, one black crystal, one bead.
Pass this line through the bead from step 4 (highlighted in luminous green in the diagram), follow by further passing the line back through the first black crystal added in this step. Add one bead and one purple crystal and pass this line through the bottom adjoining bead from step 1 - shown where the blue arrow is coming out from.
Take the bottom (purple) line, pass it through the last purple crystal added on the other line.
Step 6: |
- Take the top (purple) line, add two beads, one black crystal, one bead.
Pass this line through the 3 beads from step 5 (highlighted in luminous green in the diagram), follow by further passing the line back through the first 2 beads added in this step. Add one bead, one black crystal and one purple crystal and pass this line through the left adjoining bead from step 1 - shown where the purple arrow is coming out from.
Take the bottom (blue) line, pass it through the last purple crystal added on the other line.
Step 7: |
- Add one bead on each side of the line.
Add one black crystal to crisscross both lines. Add one bead on each side of the line again. On the right (purple) line, continue to add one black crystal, one bead. Now on one of the line add one bead, one pink crystal and one bead, crisscross the other line through this 3 additions.
Step 8: |
- Take the left (purple) line, add two beads and pass it through the black crystal on it's top - as shown where the purple arrow comes out of.
Take the right (blue) line, add one bead, one black crystal, one bead, one black crystal, one bead, one black crystal. Pass this line back through the 3 beads highlighted in luminous green, then pass it further through the last added bead on the left line - as shown where the blue arrow comes out of.
You can tie off or leave it first.
Repeat step 1 to 8 again to make the other side of the wings.
Step 9: |
- Tying the two sides together:
Take the remaining strings or tie off both pieces and cut a new piece of short thread. Add one black crystal at the center bottom of the butterfly (shown in darker circle) pass the strings of each side through one bead, one black crystal, crisscross both lines and continue to pass the line up through two beads each and tie off.
For a more secure piece, pass the remaining strings back through the piece - no specific order - and do not cut off immediately after tying off.
Remember to add the pendant hook on the top of one side of the wings.
