Make your own Halloween Candy Poppers - Kid Art Project - August 2007

Here's a list of FREE kid Art and Science project, to help promote creativity and imagination with these arts and craft project and arts craft idea made from simple materials. This month August 2007 recycle paper towel roll core and your creativity to create your own Halloween Candy Poppers!

Project of the Month (August)

Make your own Candy Popper!

You will Need:
1)   Toilet Paper towel roll cardboard core and tissues or thin paper towels (black, white or orange).
2)   Ribbons, black and orange color paper strips, paper cut out spiders.
3)  Tape and scissor.
4)   Candies of various types you would like to place inside the popper.
  • Cut the tissue paper or paper towel (preferably black, white or orange. Tip: you can dye the papers one night before and let it dry out.) measuring around 8 inches longer than the toilet roll core (you will need to leave around 4 inches of excess tissue on each ends of the toilet roll core.
    Place the toilet roll core on the tissue square as shown, cut a piece of tape (marked with blue in the picture) tape the tissue end with the toilet roll core (remember to leave 4 inches of excess tissue on each end of the roll), roll up the tissue around the toilet roll core tightly and tape the ends to the roll again.
  • Tie one end of the excess 4 inches tissue paper with a ribbon, using a scissors' back blade, curl the excess hanging ribbons.
    Place candies, ribbon stripes, pranks such as paper spiders and color paper strips into the other end of the popper.
  • Now tie the other end of the tissue the exact same way as you did with the previous end. 

    There you have it your own party poppers perfect for that Halloween holiday.
