Project of the Month (May)

Make your own Kite

You will Need:
1)    Two thin wooden stick, one shorter than the other. (length depending on the size of the kite you want to make)
2)    A big piece of thin paper
3)   Kite string or thin fishing line
4)    Scissor
5)    Glue

Step 1:

Using one end of the string, tie the two sticks like a cross (remember to leave a long reel of string as the kite string), the longer stick vertical and the shorter one horizontal. (make sure the horizontal stick is balance on both side)

Step 2:

Place the piece of paper over the cross and cut out the shape as shown (measuring around the stick cross and make sure you cut the paper one inch larger than the actual stick frame)

Step 3:

First apply glue to the cross's surface and stick on the paper cutout.

Second fold the excess one inch paper on each sides to the back and glue this to the back of the paper.

You can find a old round plastic bottle or any round object that you can use as a reel for the kite string.
