December 2009 Beaded 3D Christmas Reindeer Project.

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded tutorials and other project. This month's project is a beaded 3D Reindeer, made with Japanese glass seed beads and Swarovski Crystal using right angle weave Beading technique. This is page 2 of the full tutorial.

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Step 16:
  • Continue to:

Add three beige beads on the bottom (red) string, crisscross the top (black) string through the last bead added.
Continue to pass the red string (the one you just used to add new beads on) through two old beads from step 10 and step 11 (marked A and B).
Step 17:
  • Continue to:

Add one beige and one brown beads on the bottom (black) string, crisscross the top (red) string through the last bead added.
Continue to pass the black string (the one you just used to add new beads on) through two old beads from step 11 and step 12 (marked A and B).
  • Now it is about time to add a 5mm bead inside your beadwork to make sure the head stays round!
Step 18:
  • Continue to:

Add two brown beads on the right (red) string, crisscross the left (black) string through the last bead added.
Continue to pass the red string (the one you just used to add new beads on) through three old beads from step 12, step 13 and step 14 (marked A, B and C).
Step 19:

Add one beige bead to crisscross both lines through.
Continue to pass the top red string through three old beads from step 18, 17 and 16 (marked A, B and C).
Continue to pass the bottom black string through one old bead from step 14 (marked A).
Step 20:

Continue to pass the right black string through two old beads from step 14 and 15 (marked A and B).
Continue to pass the left red string through two old beads from step 16 and 15 (marked A and B).

Step 21:
  • Nose: Continue to:

Add one white bead on each side of the string (total of two white bead added in the step), add one last red crystal to crisscross both lines through.
Step 22:
  • Continue to:

Add one beige bead on each side of the string (total of two white bead added in the step), continue to pass each side of the string through the piece as shown and up through the brown beads as shown.
Step 23:
  • Ear: Continue to: (Working on only one side of the string at a time)

On the left (red) string, add six new brown beads and pass the string back through the piece as shown.

Repeat this step for the other side of the string.
  • You can now pass the strings through the piece until they meet and tie off. (for a more secure piece, pass the excess string further through the piece)
Step 24: Cut two pieces of wire, around 4 inches long each (one for each antler)
  • Antler: I used a bead size smaller for my antler, you can use size 11/0 or 12/0 for yours.

Take one piece of wire, add one brown bead at the exact center of the wire, add three more brown beads through both side of the wires at the same time.

Take the left (black) side of the wire, add three new brown beads, continue to pass the same wire back through the first two bead you just added.

Add three more brown beads through both side of the wires at the same time.

Take the right (red) side of the wire, add three new brown beads, continue to pass the same wire back through the first two bead you just added.

Add four more brown beads through both side of the wires at the same time.
  • See this picture for where to add each antler on your Reindeer's head.
Step 25: Body: Cut one piece of new string, around half a meter long.
You have to pass this new thread through the bead marked 1 (marked with a red dot) from step 20. Make sure you balance out both string so that the center of the string is exactly at the bead you pass through.
  • Add three white beads on the left (black) string, crisscross the right (red) string through the last bead added.
Continue to pass the black string (the one you just used to add new beads on) through one old bead marked 6 on step 20 (marked A).

Step 26:
  • Continue to:

Add one beige and one brown beads on the bottom (red) string, crisscross the top (black) string through the last bead added.
Continue to pass the red string (the one you just used to add new beads on) through one old bead marked 5 on step 20 (marked A).
