August 2010 Beaded 3D Dolphin Whale Project

This month, I would like to feature the instruction on a beaded 3D Dolphin Whale made with Japanese glass seed beads, using right angle weave beading technique. The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

 Beaded Dolphin Tutorial
Step 50: Continue to: (work this step in the opposite direction - anticlockwise)
  • Add one white bead on the right (red) string and crisscross the left (black) string through the bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through one old beads marked A.

Step 51: Continue to: (go back to beading clockwise)
  • Add four white beads on the bottom (red) string and crisscross the top (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through two old beads marked A and B.
    Continue to pass the black string down through one new bead added on this step marked A.

Step 52: Continue to:
  • Add two white beads on the top left (black) string and crisscross the bottom right (red) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the black string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through one old bead marked A.

Step 53: Continue to: (the Eye) work only on one side of the string.
  • Add one black bead on the top left (red) string and continue to pass the same string back through three old white beads, eventually exiting from the last bead added on step 52.

Step 54: Continue to:
  • Add four blue beads on the left (red) string and crisscross the right (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through two old beads marked A and B.

  • Add one blue bead to crisscross both strings through, continue to pass the red string back up through one old bead from step 54, marked A.

  • Add three blue beads on the left (red) string and crisscross the right (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through two old beads marked A and B.

  • Add one blue bead to crisscross both strings through, continue to pass the red string back up through one old bead from step 56, marked A.

  • Add three blue beads on the top left (red) string and crisscross the bottom right (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) through two old beads marked A and B.

    Continue to pass the black string back up through one old bead marked A.
    Continue to pass the red string back up through one old bead from step 56, marked A.

  • Add three white beads on the top (black) string and crisscross the bottom (red) string through the two last beads added.

  • Add one white bead to crisscross both strings through.
    Continue to pass the black string down through one old bead marked A.
    Continue to pass the red string back up through one old bead from step 63, marked A.
