August 2012 Beaded 3D Bag Charm Tutorial Pattern

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beading tutorials and other project. This month's project is a beaded 3D bag charm, made with glass seed beads, using the right angle weave beading technique.

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Beaded 3D Bag:

What you need:

1)   Glass seed beads 11/0 (silver)
2)   Beading string (0.25mm)

Always Remember to pull tight on EVERY STEP.

 Beaded 3D Bag
Step 1:
  • Cut a piece of string around half a meter long:

    Add four beads on one end of the string and crisscross the other string through the last bead added.

Step 2:
  • Continue to:

    Add one bead on each side of the string and one last bead to crisscross both strings through.

    Repeat this step one more time!

Step 3:
  • Continue to:

    After repeating step 2 one more time.
    Add three beads the left (red) string, cross the right (black) string through the last bead added.

Step 4:
  • Continue to:

    Add three beads on the bottom (black) string.
    Cross the other (red) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the black string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) up through one old bead marked A.

Step 5:
  • Continue to:

    Add two beads on the bottom right (red) string.
    Cross the other (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) up through one old bead marked A.

    Repeat this step one more time (with opposite string color).

Step 6:
  • Continue to:

    After repeating step 5 one more time.
    Add two beads on the top (black) string, cross the bottom (red) string through the last bead added.

Step 7:
  • Continue to:

    Add three beads on the top (red) string.
    Cross the other (black) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass the red string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) down through one old bead marked A.

Step 8:
  • Continue to:

    Add two beads on the top right (black) string.
    Cross the other (red) string through the last bead added.
    Continue to pass black string (the one you used to add new beads on this step) down through one old bead marked A.

    Repeat this step one more time (with opposite string color).

Step 9:
  • Continue to:

    After repeating step 8 one more time.
    Add two beads on the bottom left (red) string, cross the other (black) string through the last bead added.
  • After this step, repeat step 4 to step 9 five more times!

Step 10:
  • Continue to: (joining)

    After the repetition of step 4 to step 9 five more times.
    Add one bead on the bottom (black) string and pass this same string up one old bead marked A.

Step 11:
  • Continue to:

    Add one bead to crisscross both strings through, continue to pass the strings back up through one old beads each (marked A and A).

    Repeat this step nine more times to join the two sides.
    Tie off after you add the last bead.

Step 12:
  • Handle:

    Cut a new piece of string, around 6 inches long.
    Pass the string through one old bead at one of the side marked with a red dot.
    Add 18 beads on each side of the string (you can add more or less beads depending on whether you want a longer or shorter handle).
    Pass one side of the string (black) through one old bead on the other side marked with A.
    Tie off.
    Add a jump ring or hook at the handle area to use as charm, pendant, earrings or more...
