July 2007 Elegant Crystal Ring Project

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month, I would like to feature the instruction on an elegant beaded crystal ring made with glass seed beads, bugles and Swarovski crystals that you can make for yourself or your love ones.

Beaded Crystal Ring

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Elegant Crystal Ring

What you need:

1)   4mm or 5mm Swarovski crystals (5 or 6 pieces)
2)   Silver white bugle and seed beads (11/0)
3)   Beading string (0.25mm).

Always pull tight on every step!

Step 1:
  • Cut one piece of string around 1/2 meter long.

String on one seed bead at the middle of the string, add on one bugle on each side of the string (total of 2) and one last crystal to crisscross both side of the string through.
Step 2:
  • Continue by:
Adding one bugle on each side of the string (total of 2) and one last seed bead to crisscross both side of the string through.
Step 3:
  • Continue by:
Adding one bugle on each side of the string (total of 2) and one last crystal to crisscross both side of the string through.
  • Repeat step 2 and 3 several times more until you have reached the length of the ring you need (measure around your finger while you work). Stop when you are around 1cm away from the actual length you need and right after a repeat of step 3.
Step 4:
  • Joining up the ring:
The top represents the very first seed bead you added on step 1.
The bottom represents the very last crystal you just added and where the strings are at right now.
Continue by adding one bugle on each side of the string and crisscross both string through the very first seed bead you added from step 1.
Continue to pass the string to the top of the piece until they meet head to head, tie a dead knot and pass the string further before cutting away excess (for a more secure piece).
