March 2006 Beaded Crystal Heart

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month's project is a beaded crystal heart made with Crystals using the Right Angle Weave technique.

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Beaded Crystal Heart :

What you need:

1)    Crystal - 44pcs 4mm Crystals; 60pcs 3mm Crystals.

Step 1: Remember to pull tight on every step.

Cut a piece of wire around half a meter long.

Add on four 4mm Crystals at the middle of the wire, crisscross both ends of the wire through the last Crystal added.

Step 2: Add two 4mm crystals on the red wire, add one 3mm crystal on the black color wire and cross this wire through the last added crystal on the red wire as shown where the two lines crisscrosses.
Step 3: Now we will go a bit faster.

Repeat step 2 five more times.
Step 4: Now continue to bead the same way but using all 4mm crystals.
Adding two 4mm crystals on one end of the wire, one 4mm crystal on the other end of the wire and cross this wire through the last crystal added on the opposite end of the wire.

Do this three times but note that during the last sequence crisscross the wires at the top left crystal as shown (where the two lines red and black crosses at the end) and not at the bottom crystal so that you can continue to bead the other side of the heart.
Step 5: Now continue step four by repeating step 4 and then step 3 backwards.

Repeat step 4 (two times instead of three) then continue by repeating step 3 6 times but note that for the final sequence, add only one 4mm crystal at one top wire (instead of two), cross this line (red) through the top left 4mm crystal of the very first square you made on step one (the crystal where the final two lines crosses. Tie off.

Now you have one heart shape, if you want to make a 3-D heart continue on the below instruction.

Repeat step 1 to 5 and make another heart exactly the same way.
Step 6: Joining the two hearts to make it 3-D.

The gray color crystals are the joining crystals which are all 3mm.
Cut a new piece of wire and add a 3mm crystal in the center of the wire, string each end through the same matching crystals from each heart that you made earlier (you can start from anywhere on the heart) and add one more 3mm crystal to crisscross.

Get the idea? now just repeat this all around the whole crystal heart.
Do this for both the inside and the outside of the hearts - adding a total of 18 crystals on the inside and 18 crystals on the outside. (I would suggest start on the inside first)

Add on a pendant hook or just look it onto your chain or leather string to wear as a pendant.
