About Daisy:
I design some but mostly copy it or sometimes I re-do things because I don't understand the instructions or I don't have the right beads or I just want a different look.
I don't really remember why I took up bead work but I've always been into crafts. In the past I used to knit, make Plaster of Paris animals, making paper cards etc. I also used to do counted cross stitch and often used to use seed beads as I'd often like my various items to have a 3D effect.
In High School I used to make copper bracelets and some earrings.  I also used to make cold pressed enameled jewelry. Then in 99 I ended up at a day center doing voluntary work taking a small class making enameled jewelry but this time it involved a desktop kiln and a lot of different colored powders.
I don't spend a get deal of time doing my bead work as I'm not well but when I'm able to it keeps me sane as well as I love to learn new techniques. I mostly make my stuff for family and friends for gifts for Christmas or Birthdays etc. I have in the past donated stuff to a friends Charity, Guide Dog's For The Disabled and also St Christoper Hospice.
My favorite stitches are Spiral which is one of the beading techniques I first learnt from a video tutorial. I'm a very visual person, so learn better when shown. I also really love RAW too, as there are so many things you can do with it. Working with mono-filament is kinder on my hands then say wire work, but I do use thread also.
